Tim Milton approached me looking for a new dental website for his surgery. Being an oral surgery specialist meant that a majority of his patients were referred to him by other dental practices. His existing referral process could be time-consuming and often involved several emails and/or telephone calls to gather the necessary information regarding a patient. He wanted to streamline this process and allow both individual patients and dental practitioners to make referrals online. The referral process had to be very easy, gather important information, and cater effectively to both user groups.
He also wanted to share his expertise in the field by providing useful pre and post-op information for his fellow practitioners and patients alike. It was also important to alleviate any apprehension facing a prospective patient who was about to embark on oral surgery.
I designed his new dental website around a simple two-step journey that allowed visitors to be referred quickly from anywhere on the site. The referral process was delivered through a simple online form that used conditional logic to gather only the relevant information from each user group. The new streamlined referral process has saved Tim a lot of time, increased referrals, and allowed him to focus more on caring for his patients.
